Women of the ELCA
2010 Thankoffering Service to be Held November 7, 2010
The Thankoffering Service of the Women of the ELCA will be held on November 7, 2010 at both services. Women of the Lutheran church have been gathering for Thankofferings since the early 1900’s. It is a tradition grounded in our celebration of community. We gather together as faithful women joyfully giving thanks and praise for what God has given to us.
The speaker will be Lori Anne McBride. Lori attends Gettysburg Seminary with the aid of a WELCA Scholarship. She is working to attain a Certificate in Theological Studies. This Certificate requires 15 courses over a three-year period of time. In addition to this schooling, she is also taking courses for a BS degree in Secondary Education. Lori Anne also teaches Bible Studies and the High School Sunday School class at Trinity Lutheran Church in Camp Hill. As if this isn’t enough, Lori Anne works full time for the PA State Department of Environmental Protection.
Lori Anne and her husband Jeff have two teen-aged daughters. Becka is majoring in Education at HACC and Shanon is a tenth grade student at East Pennsboro High School this fall.
The Executive Committee of the Women of the ELCA will host coffee hour.
