St. Paul Missionaries

Missionary Relationship

• Stephen Deal and Marta Giron are our new missionaries to Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
   

Konde Diocese Companion Relationship (Tanzania)

• In 1996 St. Paul Congregational Church Council approved a Konde Diocese companion partner relationship with the Lower Susquehanna Synod and the Konde Diocese in Tanzania.
• In late 1996 the Lower Susquehanna Synod assigned Kanga Lutheran Church to St. Paul as a companion partner relationship.
• January 1997 Pastor Gene Stuckey at St. Paul started correspondence with Pastor John Mwaswalo at Kanga Lutheran Church.
• March 1997 Pastor John Mwaswalo sent a reply correspondence to St. Paul from Kanga Lutheran Church.
• Remainder of 1997 through late 2000 with the pastoral leadership changes at St. Paul and in the Konde Diocese no more correspondence was sent or received till fall of 2000.
• September 2000 Linda Van Til attended the Lower Susquehanna Synod Companion Congregation Day in York.
• October 2000 with the Konde Diocese restructing into five districts from the original seven, Pastor Samson Mwakisu replaced Pastor John Mwaswalo at Kanga Lutheran Church for pastoral leadership.
• September 2002 Mark Mueller and Ron Van Til attended the Lower Susquehanna Synod Companion Congregation Day in York.
• Again with changes at St. Paul in leadership no correspondence was sent to Kanga Lutheran until March 2003.
• March 2003 St. Paul Youth Group made cards with their photos attached for Kanga Lutheran Church.
• July 2003 Pastor Linda Hanus and Linda Van Til attended the Lower Susquehanna Synod Companion Congregation Day in York.
• July 2003 correspondence along with Youth Group letters & photos, Nursery Sunday School class letter & photo and letter & photo from Men in Mission at St. Paul was sent to Kanga Lutheran Church.
• August 2003 information with photos on Companion Congregation Day in York was created in a bulletin board display.
• September 2003 correspondence was sent to Pastor Samson Mwakisu along with several disposable cameras from St. Paul to continue the correspondence ties.
• October 2003 one camera was brought back from Kanga Lutheran Church with the Lower Susquehanna Synod returning contingent from their Konde Diocese visit.
• October 2003 a bulletin board display was placed in the narthex of photos from Kanga Lutheran Church brought back by the LSS returning contingent.
• November 2003 a letter was received explaining the photos developed in October from Pastor Mesron Simon Mwakalambile who replaced Pastor Samson Mwakisu at Kanga Lutheran Church.
• December 2003 Christmas Giving Tree items of pens, markers, highlighters, colors, writing tablets, coloring books, toiletries and many types of books were collected for Kanga Lutheran Church.
• March 2004 Linda Van Til attended the Konde Diocese information meeting for persons interested in attending a contingent visit to the Konde Diocese from the Lower Susquehanna Synod.
• May 2004 correspondence and two disposable cameras were sent with Martin Mwakaje, teacher attending Millersville University when he returned home for a short visit to Tanzania for Kanga Lutheran Church along with sports equipment for Manow Lutheran Seminary.
• June 2004 Christmas Giving Tree items were packaged and mailed to Kanga Lutheran Church with correspondence sent to Pastor Mezron Simon Mwakalambile.
• August 2004 correspondence was received from Pastor Evangelist Emmanuel Mwakyeja at Kanga Lutheran Church.
• September 2004 correspondence received from Manow Lutheran Seminary thanking St. Paul for the sports equipment we donated to the school.
• September 2004 Linda Van Til attended the Lower Susquehanna Synod Companion Congregation Day in Lancaster.
• October 2004 corresondence was sent along with the Lower Susquehanna Synod contingent on their visit to the Konde Diocese.
• December 2004 Letter, Photos & Christmas Cards sent to Kanga Lutheran Church from St. Paul for Christmas.
• December 2004 Kanga Lutheran letters received from past several months printed in Epistle.
• January 2005 correspondence from November 30, 2004 received from Evangelist Emmual Mwakjeya at Kanga Lutheran explaining purchase made from last donation sent from St. Paul.
• February 2005 Epistle article printed letter received from Kanga.
• March 2005 Correspondence sent to Kanga Lutheran along with Nave dedication Worship booklet used in October, pictures of banners and different seasons of the year pulpit and altar hangings.
• April 2005 Epistle article printed for letters received in January from Kanga.
