Kenneth Krause is our new Director of Traditional Church Music. Ken, who has over twenty years experience as a church organist and choir director, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Millersville University and has recently completed his Master of Music degree at Lebanon Valley College. He has studied organ with Professor Luke K. Gubb and Dr. Karl E Moyer and has received Kodály certification in music education and musicianship from West Chester University as well as certificates in choral music, choral conducting, and music performance. Ken is a member of a number of professional organizations including the American Guild of Organists, American Choral Directors Association, American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, National Association of Music Educators, Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, and the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians. In recent years he has presented organ recitals at organ dedications in several churches in the Lebanon/Lancaster area including Green Hill Lutheran in Lebanon and Freiden’s Lutheran in Myerstown, and at the rededication service at Cornwall Manor Chapel. In 2006 he served as the Conductor of the Celebration Chorus for the 150th Anniversary Service at Saint John’s United Church of Christ. In his capacity of Director of Traditional Church music at Saint Paul he will be responsible for choosing the music and musicians for all traditional services and festivals and will will serve the church as organist, choir director and director of the church’s handbell choirs. The congregation of Saint Paul welcomed Ken on the first Sunday in January 2008 at service of Epiphany.
